EXPERIMENTAL INITIATIVES:

Apart from the regular classes and courses offered, Anant Sangeet Academy has crafted out various off beat courses for its students. These short courses are different from the regular teaching patterns as they offer a more practical and easy to use learning method which the students can adopt in their day to day musical growth. With these experimental initiatives by the academy, students will benefit to a large extent in a small time frame.

 

1. Voice Culture:

Voice culture is a branch of knowledge which deals with the techniques of right Voice Production. Voice culture deals with proper presentation of the various styles of singing. A comprehensive study of all the scientific aspects related to voice cultivation will help students to analyze their own voice and also to manipulate the vocal apparatus for the perfect voice modulation.

In a first of its kind voice culture training program, the following basics will be taught to students in order to improve overall singing and performance quality:

• Clear Pronunciation of Vowels

• Producing Sound from the Diaphragm and Navel

• Facial Expressions and Usage of Body Organs to Intensify Music

• Singing Expressions

• Breathing Control

• Body Dynamics

 

2. Theoretical Knowledge:

Classical music has a world class theory syllabus for both students and composers. Theory not only helps in understanding the basics of music well, but it also allows a better approach to learning practical music. Keeping the same in mind, one 2 hour theory class will be organised for no extra fees every month. This will be a no homework class.

 

3. Filmy Baatein: Bollywood Performance Techniques:

This course has been designed to give an overall training of live performance on bollywood numbers. This course will have 5 levels, with 1 level and 8 classes every year. The following will be offered under this course:

 

Electronic Key Board:

• Listening and Producing Music

• Art of applying basic knowledge on songs, etc.

 

Guitar:

• Leading, Strumming and Chords

• Listening and Producing Music

• Art of applying basic knowledge on songs, etc.

 

Vocals:

• Improving Bollywood Singing

• Learning the singing techniques of various legendary singers etc.

 

4. Glory of Chords:

Chords are a vital part of learning western musical instruments. According to the curriculum, students will be given training of chords in 4 levels, with 1 level and 8 classes each year. With the training of chords in Electronic Keyboard, Guitar and Piano, students will learn the following:

• To increase and maintain chord knowledge

• The usage of chords in main melody

• Making of triads

• Making of chords

• The usage of Broken Chords and Arpeggio Patterns

 

5. Soulful Rhythms:

Derived from the Greek word Rhythmos, rhythm is in general the flow in music. To gain even a minute expertise in music, it is essential to understand the rhythms and patterns of music. With 3 levels, with 1 level and 8 classes every year, the students will be able to gain rhythm sense level by level in an efficient manner.

 

6. Performances:

The annual show of Anant Sangeet Academy is a power packed performance of our academy’s students in front of a huge audience of parents, friends and relatives. This annual show is a platform for students to prepare themselves for the stage and remove any fear and hesitation related to expression of music. Students from a tender age group of 5 years and above are welcome to perform in the annual function and garner appreciation for their year round musical efforts!

 

7. Optional Vocal Training Program:

The students who learn musical instruments rather than opting for vocals usually miss out on basics of vocal singing and as a result of this they usually only understand the musical instruments up to a certain extent. To make instrumental students more proficient with overall music sense, Anant Sangeet Academy has devised an optional vocal training program for them. The course will be offered in 5 levels, with 1 level and 8 classes in a year. Following will be covered under this course:

• Ear Test (Trinity College of Music)

• Simple Vocal Exercises

• Tonal Sense Development (To understand the high and low of Sur and Swar)

• Nominal training of a few Indian Classical Ragas
